// eating good food but also healthy just got better!
Last week, Vivian and I stopped by Tender Greens located in Pasadena before we ended a concert in the area.
Tender Greens, which is a healthier lunch alternative, has quickly replaced Veggie Grill as my go-to, semi-fancy lunch spot. I say semi-fancy in that I wouldn’t be caught here looking like a rolled-out-of-bed mess– especially if you happen to stop by on a nice, sunny day, you can take a stroll through Old Town Pasadena nearby.
Vivian and I both ordered the Marinated Backyard Steak (served medium rare) which comes with a side of mashed potatoes and your choice of salad (I got the Romaine Hearts salad which is basically a Caesar salad). My meal came out to about $15 because I ordered a lemonade ($3) but the meal itself is about $11-12~. I personally really enjoyed the meal and was pleasantly surprised how good the food tasted. My only critique is that I’m not a huge fan of eating my steak medium rare but I managed just fine.
I actually wasn’t able to finish it all myself and ended up taking it home because the portions were bigger than I expected. I honestly really recommend it to anyone in the area or looking for good, healthy food! They have other meat options like grilled chicken, fish, or falafel for those who don’t eat red meat.
There are now a large variety of Tender Greens locations, so definitely Yelp it to find out which one is near you!
