First stop on ‘Venture Around K-Town for Aesthetic Coffee Shops’: Balcony Coffee & Tea!

This cute little cafe is located on Western Ave. in Koreatown in a small little plaza. I’ll get straight to it for this one.

  • Ambience: 10/10
  • Service: 10/10
  • Aesthetics: 10/10
  • Cleanliness: 10/10
  • Parking: 10/10
  • Music: 10/10

Balcony Coffee & Tea has both indoor and outdoor seating, which is nice for those who either want peace and quiet or fresh air. The inside of the shop has a nice dark wood on white theme, and it’s actually shocking how clean they manage to keep everything! Outside, it slightly resembles a garden with wooden benches and various potted plants.

When we walked in, we were greeted by the barista and he was super patient as we situated ourselves and decided what to order. Katrina got a Matcha Latte ($5) and I got a Hibiscus Lemonade ($6) and both drinks were honestly amazing! I’ve tried many matcha lattes which end up tasting either really bland or too powdery but this drink was perfect! As well as my Hibiscus Lemonade, neither flavor was too overpowering and there was just the right balance.

We probably spent about 3 hours here in total while we studied, an hour and a half outdoors and the rest of the time indoors when it started getting dark. The staff are really nice and let you do your own thing, so it’s nice not to feel like ‘ugh, can they leave already?’

They also have pastries available, probably from Porto’s though tbh HAHAH. As well, they have their own parking lot so you don’t have to use their valet service even though it is there available for you! Overall, I really liked this place and would definitely come back just to study or catch up with a friend in a friendly, aesthetic environment heh.
