On my 22nd birthday, I paid a visit to Little Tokyo’s newest addition Midori Matcha.

Located in the Weller Court plaza, Midori Matcha has quickly become a foodie hot spot. The day we visited, a Saturday, fashion and food bloggers with entourages and DSLR cameras in hand had apparently heard the good news as well.

I believe Midori Matcha is working on getting parking validations for their shop as parking in the Weller Court can rack up to $9 for being there a little over an hour. If you can find street parking, I would highly recommend that instead (or going on an off-day during the week).

Ruth, Katrina, and I got the Organic Matcha Soft-Serve (priced at $4) and Vivian tried the Matcha Latte ($6). I personally enjoyed the soft serve, but if I’m being honest, the consistency and texture still falls second to SomiSomi’s green tea soft serve. Vivian wasn’t a huge fan of her latte because it seemed more watered down, but they also serve freshly brewed tea, “Matcha Americanos”, and more.

I think it’s definitely worth a try if you’re in the area or if you need a new place to try good matcha ice cream. I think what’s really hindering me from coming back is how much the parking costs at the moment, but otherwise, I enjoyed it and would bring a friend again!
